Sideboard
The Pura sideboard was designed and presented in collaboration with the company Pamar on the occasion of the Interzum Forum Italy 2024.
Pamar, a flagship of Brianza’s excellence and Made in Italy craftsmanship, has been creating furniture accessories since 1951 for the most important Italian furniture brands. The company is renowned for its collaborations with top designers and architects, developing true works of art that enhance every piece of furniture.
Starting from the idea of designing a sideboard with clean, minimalist lines, we opted for a sturdy supporting frame that also serves as the top. The chosen material for the structure is black Fenix, a highly contemporary, scratch-resistant and fingerprint-proof surface.
The doors, which sit flush against the frame, are made of teak veneer, featuring a continuous grain that also runs across the vertical edge of the door. This gives the sideboard a visually seamless wood grain, reminiscent of solid wood.
The Pura sideboard stands out for its structure without central dividers, extending two meters in length and resting solely on elegant lateral feet.
The design challenge was to create a structure capable of supporting significant weight without causing the top or bottom panels to sag, thus ensuring perfect alignment of the doors.
Fully clad in teak, the Pura sideboard can also be placed in the center of a room, showcasing its beauty from every angle. The doors, equipped with concealed hinges recessed into the top and bottom panels, offer a clean and sophisticated appearance.
The central shelf, made of raw painted sheet metal, enhances the perception of the Pura sideboard’s stability and sturdiness. With the doors open, the combined visual effect of these elements is both striking and refined.
The Pura sideboard was outfitted for the first edition of Interzum Forum Italy with the new MN2684Z handle, designed by architect P. Borgonovo, and the adjustable PG027/9 foot, designed by the G. Bavuso studio, both in a total black matte finish.
The MN2684Z model is composed of two die-cast zamak cylinders that grip an aluminum extrusion, providing a solid grip as well as the possibility to customize sizes and finishes upon request.
The foot, an emblematic piece by Pamar, is made of zamak, brass, and stainless steel. The movement between its various gears allows for precise height adjustment.
A top-tier setup for a true collector’s item.
The exclusive version of the Pura sideboard, unveiled during the event, is enhanced by a black matte-finished medallion, screen-printed with the logos of both companies and seamlessly embedded into the door panel.
